We are spirits having a human experience. A waking dream is an emotionally charged event that stands apart from the rest of your day. Each waking dream in our life is divine. They are created for our spiritual growth. These waking dreams all have the same basic purpose, which is, to lead us back to Self love. As long as we believe that we are merely bodies and personalities, the Self will seek dramatic wake up scenarios to shake up our identification with ego. Once we acknowledge the genius with which the scenarios in our lives are being orchestrated, we will learn to be grateful for each new opportunity to awaken. Each One of us, will then become more and more open to receiving the messages inherent in daily encounters.

Once we have found the treasure buried in the experience, it has fulfilled its mission and can depart. As long as we continue to hate, resent or run away from these experiences they will intensify and repeat themselves like a dark comedic formula movie. What you resist persists.

To conquer the recidivism of these old familiar patterns, we must turn inward and ask, “What is the message in this waking dream.”? What aspects of my personality are symbolized by these people, objects, animals or actions etc…? Symbols are the language of the soul. Curiosity with emotional detachment and mindful reflection are key factors in the decoding process. This is the first step on the path to freedom.

What is typically called a minor or major crisis is also a waking dream. Each of these emotionally charged experiences mirrors a fearful shadow aspect of ourselves. Once we discover the origin of the fear and pain that are being suppressed it ceases to have control over us. The more intense the situation, the greater the need to learn and appreciate the lesson. We must examine our belief systems periodically and do some mental and emotional house cleaning. Energy follows thought, especially emotionally charged thought. We magnetize what ever we are focused on. If we focus on things we don’t want, we will draw more of that into our lives. Worry and anxiety can be defined as negative prayer. Affirmations, on the other hand, will magnetize and “make firm” that which we want more of.

Once you acknowledge that you are co-creating your reality and take responsibility for your life, the paradigm of your life will shift. The energy will move. The music from that broken record, playing in your head will cease. The needle will be kicked out of that well-worn groove and play a more peaceful tune. No matter what the situation, if we can learn to accept it, as it is, trusting that it serves our highest good, we will be free to move forward on our dream quest.

I invite you to repeat this affirmation for a month to “kick start” a healthy new mindset.

“I now trust the process of life to take me only to my highest good”.

I am aware that the movie “The Secret” is igniting some controversy. That can be a good thing. Anything that makes people think about what they are unconsciously manifesting is useful. I admit that I didn’t see what was missing from the movie until two weeks ago when I got an “intuitive nudge” to look into it objectively.

I heard two lectures about the movie, “The Secret”, by Dr. Paul Leon Masters, the president of the University of Metaphysics on February 25th and March 4th, 2007. He found the movie to be problematic and that’s putting it mildly. I now “see” the “fine print” that I overlooked in my enthusiasm before. The movie is misleading.
